Great fun and great tuition from Daniel Fathers at MTA’s first Master Class of 2016. Star of screen and stage, Daniel brought a touch of Hollywood to The Birley Centre on Saturday 19th March.
Mindful of the caveat “safety first”, the MTA students were excited to learn tricks of the trade as Daniel demonstrated theatrical swordsmanship techniques and moves such as “Parry”, “Lunge” and, of course, “EN GARDE”!
Let’s not forget the “Buckle Swash” - the favourite move of all budding Swash Bucklers!
Daniel choreographed the moves into a short set which the students practised and took to with gusto - bringing to light our technical wizards and bellowing pirates!
